Advanced Chlorine Dioxide Technology

Warm hot tub and swimming pool water can provide the ideal breeding ground for bacterial growth. As bacteria starts to form on surfaces and in hot tub pipework, biofilm can begin to form. Biofilm is extremely resistant to chlorine. AquaSPArkle DiOx Ultra will effectively clean hot tub and swimming pool pipework and surfaces.

Hydro Dioxide is a fast dissolving 40g Chlorine Dioxide tablet designed to quickly remove and prevent the formation of biofilms within hot tubs, spas and swimming pool systems. According to GreenTech International, Hydro Dioxide is almost 3 times stronger than chlorine and up to 100 times more effective at removing biofilms.

Hot Tub Application Instructions

Isolate your chlorine, redox & pH probes from the hot tub or pool water.

Isolate any chlorine or bromine feeder prior to product application.

For systems with a cartridge filter, remove & clean the cartridge, then return to service before treatment starts.

CAUTION: Do not use the hot tub or pool during DiOx Ultra treatment.

Refer to the dose rate table below for the number of tablets required for treatment.

Wear suitable protective gloves & eye protection when handling product.

Open the sachet(s) and carefully drop the required number of tablets around the hot tub or pool perimeter with the pump(s) running.

After 15 - 20 minutes, backwash your filter. The hot tub or pool will be safe to use after 8 hours or immediately if draining and refilling with fresh water (assuming sanitiser & pH levels are correct).

Other Applications

Add one tablet to 20ltr of water using a clean bucket and allow the tablet to fully dissolve.

Apply the solution to biofilm covered surfaces such as floatation aids, covers, channel grates, pool sides and changing areas. Leave for 5 minutes and then wash off with clean water.

Manufactured in the UK. GreenTech International states Hydro Dioxide conforms to EN1276 (99.999% log reduction performance) and aligns with GB BPR and HSG282 guidance for Legionella control.

Is this product also suitable for whirlpool baths? Thanks

No, The Hydro Dioxide tablet is 40g so the solution would be too strong for a whirlpool bath. It could also cause some issues if used indoors especially if the area was poorly ventilated. It's much better suited to an outdoor hot tub or pool. I would try Pure-Spa Whirlpool Bath Cleaner and Degreaser and the Pure-Spa Sanitiser Tablets. These work very well for whirlpools.

Biofilms are slimy layers of microorganisms that form inside water systems like pipes, and filters, making them very resistant to cleaning and harmful to bathing water quality. Biofilms harbour harmful bacteria that can contaminate Spa water and cause infections. Normal Chlorine just washeses over them. But Hydro Dioxide will destroy Biofilm
